Inner Sea NPC Codex

The Inner Sea NPC Codex features 55 characters strongly tied to Golarion (The Pathfinder world), whereas the original NPC codex was pretty setting neutral. If you are looking for a stack of NPCs, I recommend the original "Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: NPC Codex" as it has over 300 NPCs. If you are looking for Golarion specific NPCs, this is your book (64 page paperback).

None of the statblocks in this book are for specific characters, but rather generic members of different Inner Sea associations. Each NPC has a page or 2, a picture, full stat blocks with gear, and a rundown of the NPCs affiliation. The NPC codex does reference many other books with page numbers, but most of the referenced information can be located on Paizo's PRD. Below is a list of the NPCs and their Class/Level.

Excellent Introduction And Advised For Quick Understanding Of Basic R Capability

Hello,

First, there is much information available online about R, but much of the R literature is quite advanced. In addition, PhD statisticians, which write much of the R documentation, have a tendency to use very specific vocabulary words to describe a method. For the later reasons, the learning curve for the powerful open source R can be quite gradual when considering learning on the Y axis and Time on the X axis.

This Introductory course provides an opportunity to understand a massive amount of R for computing statistics. It is written for beginners but actually provides very useful R tools. The book provides knowledge to quickly become proficient in R, which can be challenging. If you google R, you will find there is much information on the Internet about the process of importing data as an example. It appears that many struggle with the latter task. This task and more are explained in this introductory book in a logical step-wise process.

Personally, I believe R, which is free and powerful, should be a part of every engineering and scientific statistical course. Why? As a chemical engineer, I have used statistics to optimize processes. Since validated statistical software was not distributed, I did my work in Microsoft Excel, which I was familiar with and I was rushed, but wish I would have known about well developed and introductory R documentation. This Introductory book would have been quite helpful.

Also, I appreciate that Dr. Knell also suggests books for more complicated topics. I think most people, myself included, forget that our professors kindly lead our learning. As such, we did not have to review textbooks, etc. Although the Internet is useful in this process, one can still stumble upon a difficult read. Since Dr. Knell does such a good job with explaining Introductory R in easy to understand language, I believe his suggested books are probably effective for quick learning as well. As such, I plan to us the Internet to evaluate his suggested readings before I buy my own.

In fact the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) used R to evaluate part of the complicated relationship of heart toxicity and drugs[1]. The later is important because the FDA requires their regulated industries use "validated" statistical software packages. As such, FDA must have the opinion that R is appropriate data analysis software, which might calm some peoples fear about learning R.

Quote: "The limits of intra-subject day-to-day variability were calculated using R 2.12.0 (R Project for Statistical Computing, Vienna, Austria)."[1]

Finally, I also suggest scientist and engineers become more informed about "Linear Mixed Models," and R handles such models effectively.

As an R novice I am always on the look out for a good introduction. Knell's book provides a user friendly method of getting into the platform and a useful set of instructions for statistics in R and many visualization techniques. Perfect for the novice, students and those with R phobia. Certainly recommended.

It covers basics, importing data, using the help files, R packages, graphs, record keeping, trouble shooting and basic programming, each with some examples. I suggest you read this book readers it was so good part 2 left nothing out. Sonnet is a true trifling thot,she just takes and never grows up thinking what's between her legs gonna put her back on top. Avaire headed down a dangerous path dealing drugs but he wants to be a man so bad. Cheron finally sees Sonnet for who she is and gets rid of Kenterris for cheating behind her back. Darius an Lexington are doing great.I'm ready for part 3 to see how low Sonnet will continue to go.

I read this book in two hours flat! Sonnet gets on my nerves so bad and I couldn't have been happier when The Dutchess took her hair off...I was hoping the Dutchess was going to do more than cut her hair. I can't wait for part three, hopefully she gets what's coming to her and I hope she does. I love this book and definitely recommend it.

Fair Warning: Tim Pat Coogan's "The IRA" is a lengthy, serious and highly detailed work of Irish history. It will be certain to disappoint the casual reader. The subject matter is grim. It encompasses the history of the Irish Republican Army from the early 1920's to the present-depressing- day. The several reprintings virtually guarantee some repetition in the text. The glorious years of the Easter Rising (1916-1921) are not central. IRA military heroics from that era are basically ignored. Instead "The IRA" commences at the end of the Irish Civil War and the dawn of the Irish Free State circa 1922 and leads up to the present -depressing- day. "The IRA" is exhaustively researched with supporting anecdotes and interviews galore. It is rich in detail. There is no doubt that one is reading true and accurately reported happenings. Author Coogan obviously possess a wide range of contacts in the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland. He must not lack for friends and drinking companions! This reviewer knows first hand that he is an entertaining -and credible- speaker. However "The IRA" is far too long. Given the interesting subject matter, it is strangely dry. One might wonder, given the reprintings, why a sharp penciled editor has not stepped in to reshape the copy. Nonetheless the SERIOUS (!) student of Irish affairs will be satisfied. Works such as this are essential to an appreciation of the history of the troubled island. Yet, the final word on Mr. Coogan's findings must be a pessimistic one. There have been so many false starts, false promises, broken treaties, broken dreams, dead ends, double dealing, lying, spinelessness and outright treachery in the past decades. One wonders if there will ever be a peaceful resolution to "The Troubles" in Ireland. One wonders further if the players in the capitals of Washington, London and especially Dublin have given up. "The IRA" does absolutely nothing to dispel that grim notion; in fact it reinforces it. Leon Uris wrote in "Ireland A Terrible Beauty" that "there is no future in Ireland-only the past repeating itself". Those who THINK they are interested in Irish history are better advised to try Coogan's "Michael Collins: The Man Who Made Ireland" first. Those who KNOW they are so intrigued may tackle this weightier tome-and add stars to the rating above. At least the Big Fellow's life had a definite beginning, middle and end.

the best IRA history book available

this book is truly the standard reference on the IRA and thier history, it shows how the provisional IRA has changed from simple revolutionaries to highly trained ruthless terrorists who commited many attrocities while also fighting for catholic rights and ultimately realizing that they could not be beaten, but also could not win through violence alone. shows the political savy of sinn fein and the only semi-succesfull attempt by protestent paramilitaries to counter the ruthlessness of the IRA and INLA. tim pat coogen is one of the best authors on the subject of northern ireland. easily surpassess the somewhat biased and not very accurate account of the last twenty five years of the conflict by Bowyer Bell in his revised book IRA the secret army

A Gripping and Thorough History

Coogan presents possibly his best work of his career in "The IRA." He puts forth a painstakingly researched, and thorourghly gripping account of the temultuous history of this controversial organization. Originally less than half the size of its now overwhelming 800 plus pages, Coogan has updated his history up through the Good Friday agreements, never stumbling a bit. This is a must read for anyone interested in modern Irish history.
